FPCN is a network of community-based health centers that offer a variety of services, including medical, dental and behavioral health services. Located specifically in underserved neighborhoods, FPCN was seeking to improve and expand their various facilities and looked to MAI to coordinate that process.
Abbotsford Falls Primary Care, Behavioral Health and Dental Clinics
Outgrowing their original site, FPCN decided to relocate one of their existing clinics to the historic 1924 Atwater Kent factory building. MAI gave them a design for the limited space that would be inviting for patients and practical for their staff, spinning ten exam rooms around a central staff area, supplemented by meeting space to support their outreach programs. Space for Behavioral Health services was carved out of administrative offices across the hall. A few years later, MAI added a seven-operatory dental suite, and expanded the primary care suite, utilizing the now-standard eco-friendly finishes and cheery palette throughout.

At the same time, FPCN’s southwest Philly clinic was being relocated as well. MAI’s vibrant design for the new clinic allowed FPCN to again offer primary care, dental and behavioral health services in one location. Ten exam rooms, six dental operatories and six therapy rooms, all bright with natural light. Lively colors and environmentally friendly finishes provide both FPCN’s patients and staff with warm and welcoming surroundings.
Since then, with the help of MAI, both sites have expanded their facilities. Providing additional primary and behavioral care facilities, plus physical therapy, community space, a teaching kitchen and fitness space, FPCN can provide comprehensive health services in each location.
