Malvern Prep’s 100 year old Tolentine Hall had served as their middle school for years, but as their population grew, the small classrooms didn’t provide enough space or flexibility for contemporary pedagogies, or gathering space for the whole middle school to meet. MAI designed a complete, to-the-studs remodel of the building with larger classrooms, small group gathering spaces, science and STEM labs, outdoor learning spac and a two-story lobby.
The lobby serves as a community sapce for daily interactions and all-school gatherings. This connector joins the middle school with the new Maggitti Counseling center, an all-in-one resource center for counseling and academic support for the entire campus.
