MAI has had the opportunity to help a number of local YMCA’s to carry out their mission by improving their facilities.
Burlington Riverfront
MAI was brought in to repurpose an empty, circa 1945 industrial structure that had been donated to Burlington City, NJ. After the exterior shell renovations were completed, MAI teamed with the Family Y of Burlington Country to repurpose the building for their new River Branch facility. MAI worked with the Y to program and design the facility, including a competition size swimming pool, full size gymnasium, multiple fitness and weight rooms, and the usual complement of support spaces.
Mt. Laurel
MAI completed a full-service renovation in partnership with the YMCA in Mount Laurel, NJ. Work included a full-size gymnasium, natatorium, fitness center, and all the support spaces needed. This facility also was designed to house a Child Development Center with a separate dedicated entrance and playground facility.
Rocky Run
The YMCA in Media, PA needed to expand and renovate their existing facility, but they needed a plan to accomplish their objectives over time. MAI developed a phased approach with the Y so they could realize their vision. The first phase of the expansion included a new multi-purpose gymnasium with a suspended running track, new training rooms for aerobics and weights, studio/classroom space, and an expansion for their child development center. MAI also designed a small toilet room, storage, and concession pavilion adjacent to the Y’s playing fields.
