The food court at the Hamilton Mall was due for a facelift. Dominated by an oversized kiosk structure floating in a sea of random tables and chairs, the Hamilton Mall Food Court felt remarkably dark for a space with multiple skylights.
MAI pulled together a new plan for the court that did away with the hulking kiosk and created smaller, more intimate loose seating groupings defined by custom banquettes and planters filled with airy sea grasses, accentuated by brightly colored chairs. A new tiled circulation route draws customers through the court instead of around it, leaving the tenant’s offerings visible to those passing by. Even the food court toilet rooms were refreshed with new sinks and sparkling sea green glass tile matching the food court accent tile. The dramatic refresh was accomplished leaving all tenants operational throughout renovations, meeting the tight Black Friday opening date within the owner’s budget.
